KIDNEY STONES

  • Extract the juice from holy basil leaves and mix with a teaspoon of honey. Consume a teaspoon of this juice daily for a period of six months.
  • Soak a few kidney beans in water overnight. In morning, cut up beans and boil in four liters of water for 6 hours, strain liquid and let it cool. Filter it once more and drink one glass after every couple of hours. This is known to be one of the most effective home remedies for kidney stone removal.
  • Consume celery daily to prevent kidney stones and help remove existing stones.
  • Powder some pomegranate seeds and prepare a paste by adding a small amount of water. Add teaspoon of paste to food
  • Increase your intake fluids. Try to drink at least eight glasses of water daily
  • avoid alcohol and caffeine
  • If susceptible to calcium oxalate stones, restrict food: nuts, spinach, peanuts, wheat bran, tea, rhubarb
  • If prone to uric acid stones, restrict: red meats, fish roe, shrimps, sweetbread, wine, chips, sauces, luncheon meats and other snack foods
  • Add juice of 2 lemons to 3 tablespoons olive oil, drink before meals
  • At the first symptom of stone pain, mix 2 oz of organic olive oil and 2 oz of organic lemon juice. Drink it straight and follow with a 12 oz glass of water. Wait 30 minutes. Then, squeeze the juice of 1/2 lemon into 12 ounces of purified water, add 1 tablespoon of organic raw apple cider vinegar and drink. Repeat the lemon juice, water and apple cider vinegar recipe every hour until symptoms improve.
  • Uva Ursi is a common folk remedy for kidney stones, take 500mg 3xday
  • Drink 1 cup horsetail tea 4 x day
  • Take a teaspoon of basil juice and honey daily

KNEE PAIN

  • Apply cold compress/ice pack to knee
  • Soak in a hot bath with Epsom salt and essential oils
  • Gently massage your knee area with some warm olive oil
  • Get off your feet
  • Reduce swelling by keeping it raised, prop affected leg on a couple of pillows, or sit on a recliner chair, which allows you to keep your legs elevated.

  • Crush a small piece of fresh ginger root, add to 1 cup boiling water/steep/strain/add honey/drink
  • Massage affected knee with ginger oil
  • Add one teaspoon of turmeric powder in a glass of milk
  • Take 500 mg turmeric 3 x day
  • Cut 2 lemons into small pieces, tie pieces in cotton cloth, dip in warm sesame oil, place on affected knee for 10 minutes
  • Blend 7 drops eucalyptus oil and peppermint oil in two tbsp olive oil, store in a dark glass bottle, away from direct sunlight. Rub mixture on knees, massage gently so that the oil penetrates deep into the skin
