ULCERS
- Stop smoking
- Avoid alcohol
- Avoid caffeine
- Avoid: NSAIDS such as aspirin
- Over-the-counter antacid tablets may offer some relief
- Food should be eaten in small portions at regular intervals during the day to prevent acids from building up and eroding the stomach lining
- Avoid: dairy, spicy, processed foods, fatty foods
- Drink fresh carrot and cabbage juice daily
- Bananas possess a compound neutralizes stomach acids and coats the lining of the stomach preventing ulcers from forming
- Drink a glass of cold milk
- Vitamin A, Vitamin E
- Eat a bland diet
- Reduce stress: Yoga, Meditation, Reflexology, Acupuncture, Music
- Drink 8 glasses of water daily
- Taking 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper in 1 cup of hot water per day
- Diet: cabbage, plums, berries, red cabbage, parsley, garlic, licorice
- Drink Tea: licorice, chamomile, marshmallow, slippery elm, peppermint, yarrow, sage,
- Blend an egg white, 1 tablespoon powdered sugar and add 1 tablespoon olive oil. In the morning drink a spoonful on an empty stomach, don’t eat for an hour
- Add 1 tablespoon lime and 1 teaspoon honey into a glass of warm water, drink before meals
- Treatment with a tea of oats: Wash 1 cup oats, pour 1 liter warm water over oats, let stand for 12hrs, then bring to boil, let stand again 12hrs, strain and add water to obtain 1 full liter. (1-month treatment) Drink ½ cup 3 x day for 1 month
URINARY TRACT INFECTION
- Drink cranberry juice 3 x day
- Drink a glass of water with ½ teaspoon baking soda at the first sign of a UTI
- Include in diet: cranberries, blueberries, pineapple, fresh fruits and vegetables, milk, refined flour, sugar
- Avoid: fatty foods, alcohol, caffeine and spicy foods can also increase your risk of an infection.
