CALLUSES AND CORNS

  • Apply a paste of aloe vera gel and turmeric/cover/let soak 1 hour/rinse
  • Clean with tea tree oil
  • Soak feet in warm bath of Epsom salt/sea salts and a few drops essential oil
  • Use pumice stone to rub away a little each day, gently
  • Apply castor oil to soften callus
  • Wear shoe insoles
  • Wear comfortable well fitted shoes
  • Keep area moisturized with heavy cream/lotions or oils: (Eucerin), coconut oil, jojoba, sesame
  • Wear thick socks
  • Wear gloves to protect and prevent
  • Soak in vinegar (30 min)/rinse
  • Apply clinical turpentine with cotton swab, then rub with ice for 5 min
  • If you are diabetic do not try any callus treatment without first consulting your physician
  • Never remove callus or corn by cutting it with a sharp instrument like scissors, blade or knife
  • Immerse feet in diluted chamomile tea, to soften and soothe the hard skin
  • Apply a paste of crushed aspirins, lemon juice and water to calluses, let paste penetrate callus, then use pumice

CANKER SORES

  • Apply a paste of baking soda and water, apply to sores
  • Rinse mouth with warm salt water
  • Rinse mouth with a solution of 1 teaspoon baking soda to 1 cup warm water
  • Avoid: eating acidic, spicy food, salty
  • Apply cold compress/ice pack/frozen peas
  • Be gentle when brushing your teeth
  • Use toothpastes that do not contain foaming agents
  • Rinse mouth with plum juice
  • Dip cotton ball in plum juice, hold against sore
  • Apply alum to relieve pain
  • Apply wet tea bag directly on canker sore
  • Rinse mouth with warm salt water, to dry sores out, 4 x day
  • Place a piece of raw onion on affected area to promote healing
  • Apply vitamin E oil to sores
  • Rinse mouth with aloe vera juice 3 x day
  • Place an uncoated tablet on the affected area until it dissolves
  • Rinse mouth with hydrogen peroxide and water (it may foam) DO NOT SWALLOW, rinse
  • Rinse mouth with water add a few drops grapefruit seed extract or myrrh tincture daily, to help prevent infection
  • Dab canker sore with diluted grapefruit seed extract or myrrh
  • Drink Tea: chamomile, elderberry, rosemary, lavender, licorice
  • Apply calendula ointment 3 x day
  • Apply a paste of baking soda and water, allow to dry, rinse
  • Eat a cup of yogurt 3 x day, to help healing and prevent future occurrences
  • Diet: fresh fruit and vegetable, berries, yeast, kiwi
  • Avoid: citrus fruits, spices, caffeinated beverages, dairy, salty foods, sweets and oily food
  • Reduce stress in your life: yoga, meditation, music therapy, reflexology, acupuncture: stress can trigger canker sores

CARPAL TUNNEL SYNDROME

  • Use contoured keyboard
  • Yoga: to strengthen and stretch muscles and joints, improve flexibility, reduce pain and help mobility
  • Acupuncture: helps release natural pain relieving chemicals and improves circulation
  • Acupressure: to improve circulation, reduce numbness, pain and swelling
  • Massage Therapy: may reduce pain and improved grip strength
  • Diet: flax seed, pumpkin seeds, avocados, nuts, pineapple, citrus, fresh fruits and vegetables
  • Avoid: fatty foods, red meats, alcohol and caffeine

  • Avoid using lipsticks that contain strong chemicals
  • Exfoliate lips daily to remove dead/dry skin

  • Apply coconut oil to lips as needed
  • Apply puree of cucumber
  • Apply Aloe vera gel
  • Scrub lips with paste of salt/water/fresh lemon to exfoliate lips
  • Apply rose petal paste daily. Soak rose petals in fresh milk for 2 hours, grind petals into paste, apply to lips
  • Apply a mix of honey and petroleum jelly to lips/let soak 15 minutes/wipe off
  • Apply a mixture of 1 teaspoon lemon juice, 1 teaspoon castor oil and 1 teaspoon of glycerin
  • Exfoliate lips with a little sugar
  • Apply cocoa butter
  • Apply mashed ripe papaya to lips/let sit for 10 minutes/rinse
  • Make your own lip balm with beeswax, coconut oil, sweet almond oil, lanolin, Vitamin E, peppermint oil or essential oil of your choice

CHAFING

  • Apply petroleum jelly, baby oil, almond oil, lavender oil, Vitamin E, aloe vera gel to affected areas
  • Apply cornstarch to affected areas
  • Apply talcum powder to area
  • Apply baking soda to affected area
  • Apply calendula ointment/salve to affected area
  • Apply zinc oxide, let soak a few minutes, wipe off with olive oil
  • Maintain a healthy weight
  • Eat a healthy well balanced diet
  • Keep Skin clean and dry
  • Wear loose clothes that allow skin to ‘breathe’ this will help air flow
  • Wear absorbent type of clothing to reduces perspiration and facilitate evaporation of excess moisture
  • Apply an antibacterial ointment/salve/spray to affected area

CHICKEN POX

  • Soak in a cool/warm bath, add 1 cup baking soda add/or 2 cups oatmeal powder (grind some fresh oats in food processer) to help reduce itching and soothe the blisters, 4 x day
  • Apply cold compress to pox
  • Apply calamine lotion to help itching
  • Apply a paste of baking soda and calamine lotion to pox
  • Keep fingernails short and trimmed to prevent scratching, infection and prevent permanent scarring
  • If blisters are in the mouth, drinking with a straw and keep foods soft, bland and cold like milkshakes, popsicle and ice cream
  • Avoid: spicy foods, oily foods, acidic foods
  • Apply aloe vera gel to pox
  • Apply honey or vitamin E on blisters to prevent scarring
  • Gargle with warm salt water, for pox in mouth
  • Drink Tea: lemon balm, chamomile, basil, or marigold
  • Drink fresh fruit juices to keep hydrated and improve immunity (if pox in the mouth avoid citrus juice)

  • Avoid contact with people at risk until blisters are dried over. Avoid children, pregnant women, transplant patients, people with compromised immunity like cancer patients, lupus

CHRONIC FATIGUE SYNDROME

  • Tea or Supplements: Cordyceps, Gotu Kola, Licorice, Maitake, Oats, Schisandra, Siberian Ginseng, St John wart, Yerba Mate, Maca Root, Rosemary, chamomile, licorice, red raspberry leaf
  • Consume 2 teaspoons bee pollen daily, to combat physical and mental weakness and increase energy levels

COLIC

CONJUNCTIVITIS

  • Apply a warm Compress

CONSTIPATION

  • Consume flaxseed, fenugreek or barley as bulk forming laxatives
  • Senna is a natural stimulant laxative
  • Drink lots of water
  • Eat a high fiber diet
  • Take fiber supplement daily
  • Drink aloe vera juice in warm water, 2 x day
  • Drink pear, prune, papaya, grapes, oranges, spinach juices daily
  • Eat guava raw with seeds to soften stools naturally
  • Diet: figs, prunes, papaya, pears, grapes, oranges, spinach, whole grains and cereals
  • Add 1 teaspoon of salt and 1 teaspoon fresh lime juice to a glass of warm water/tea daily
  • Exercise regularly
  • Avoid: fatty foods, refined sugar, processed foods
  • Yoga: Certain yoga poses and asanas stimulate the digestive tract and encourage bowel movements
  • Consume 2 teaspoons of virgin coconut oil daily
  • Add 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar to a glass of warm water
  • Drink warm prune juice
  • Give yourself a molasses and warm milk enema

COUGHING

  • Drink grape juice and honey, as needed
  • Mix juice of 1 large onion, 1 fresh lemon and 1 cup boiling water, add honey to taste, soak overnight. Take 1 teaspoon 2 x day, as needed
  • Drink a glass of warm water and 1 teaspoon turmeric 2 x day
  • Make raisin syrup: Prepare by adding 1 cup raisins grinded, 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water, cook until mixture is a sauce-like consistency, it stored in sealed container in refrigerator, take 1 tablespoon as needed
  • Drink Tea: (add honey and fresh lemon) aniseed, peppermint, chamomile, horehound, thyme, lemon balm, rosemary, red raspberry leaf, clove, elderberry, licorice, yarrow
  • Suck on Horehound candy or lemon drops
  • Heat peppermint candy, lemon juice and honey until dissolved, take 2 tablespoons as needed
  • Mix 45 drop licorice essential oil and hot water, sip as needed
  • Mix ½ teaspoon ginger, pinch of cloves and ½ cinnamon to 1 cup boiling water, drink
  • Take 1 teaspoon of honey and fresh lemon juice
  • Honey: take it alone, mix with coconut, lemon juice, bourbon or whiskey
  • For a wet cough, add 1 teaspoon fresh ground pepper, 2 tablespoon honey in a cup of boiling water
  • Drinking a lot of liquids
  • Menthol cough drops work to numb the back of the throat, which can help tame the cough reflex
  • Sprinkle half a lemon with salt and pepper, then suck on it
  • Suck on some licorice candy, or melt licorice in boiling water/steep for 24hrs/cool/drink as needed
  • Crush 1 teaspoon mustard seeds or grind them in a coffee grinder, put seeds in 1 cup boiling water/steep 15min/ take 2 tablespoons as needed
  • Make a syrup by mixing 2 teaspoons of each dried thyme, peppermint, mullein, and licorice root into 2 cups boiling water/steep 2 hours/store in refrigerator/ take 1 tablespoon as needed
  • Sip on homemade/canned chicken soup
  • Steam: Fill a cooking pot full with water/Boil, turn off the heat/ add a few drops essential oil of eucalyptus, mints, menthols, Vicks Vapor Rub/ remove pot from stove/ place on a protected counter or table/drape a towel over your head and lean over the pot and inhale

CUTS/SCRAPES AND SCRATCHES

  • Apply Coconut oil, Indian lilac, to area 3 x day
  • Apply extra-virgin coconut oil 3 x day
  • Apply a paste of 1 tablespoon neem leaves juice and 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder (can add lime juice) 2 x day
  • If there is bleeding, you can apply some turmeric powder directly on the wound. Bleeding will stop immediately
  • To promote healing, mix 1/2 tablespoon of turmeric in enough linseed (also known as flaxseed) oil to form a paste. Apply to wound 3 x day, to reduce pain and prevent infection
  • Drink a glass of warm milk with 1 teaspoon turmeric powder, daily
  • Apply fresh aloe vera gel
  • If bleeding, clean wound with water, apply a few crushed garlic cloves on it. The pain and bleeding will stop immediately
  • Apply a paste of crushed garlic cloves on a piece of sterile gauze, cover with gauze and secure it, leave it for 20 minutes, rinse off, repeat daily
  • Crush a few fresh calendula flowers to extract the juice, apply this juice on the wound, 3 x day
  • Apply calendula salve
  • Apply grated raw potatoes on clean cloth, place on wound, leave for 4 hours, remove, rinse, repeat daily
  • Apply a paste of fresh plantains to wound, allow to dry, rinse, 3 x day
  • Diet: carrots, cantaloupe, pumpkin, apricots, tomatoes, broccoli, grapefruits, kiwi, oranges, peppers, wheat germ, hazelnuts, almonds, spinach, cheese, spinach, legumes and fish
  • Apply a few drops of lavender oil directly to the wound
  • To kill bacteria and help healing, sprinkle on granulated sugar, smear petroleum jelly around outside of wound to help hold sugar in place, 3 x day
  • Calendula ointment and/or 20 drops of Calendula tincture and 20 drops of Hypericum tincture diluted in four ounces of water, 2 x day
  • Eat fresh limes: Limes have an antibiotic effect and can kill bacteria. In West Africa, they were used to protect against the bacterial disease, Cholera
